How the calculator works
Roast loss = (green weight − roasted weight) ÷ green weight. Yield = roasted weight ÷ green weight. Coffee cost per bag = landed green cost per pound ÷ yield × bag weight in pounds. True cost per bag adds packaging and labor. Gross profit subtracts true cost and the merchant fee from the selling price, and gross margin is that profit divided by the price.
What this calculator does not include
It does not include rent, equipment, shipping, marketing, or taxes, and it is a management estimate rather than accounting advice. Use measured batch weights from your own roasts, since yield varies by coffee and roast level.
